Context gathering
Learn the business before you touch the words
What does this business actually sell, to whom, and what can it prove?
Learns the offer, the audience and their vocabulary, the provable differentiators, the real proof that exists, the house voice and what may not be claimed. It writes all of it to .seo/context.md, labelling every fact as established, inferred or unknown. Only established facts may reach published copy or schema.
Paste into Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or any agent that can open a link. If yours cannot, use Copy full text.
Reach for it when you say
- “Understand my business”
- “Gather context”
- “What's our brand voice?”
- “Who are we writing for?”
Installed as a skill, it triggers on requests like these by itself.
- Step 01Gather from what is already in front of it: the repository and the served site
- Step 02Gather what it can reach: connected data and free public sources
- Step 03Corroborate and label every fact as established, inferred or unknown
- Step 04Write the context pack to .seo/context.md
- Step 05Ask only the few questions that genuinely remain, each with a proposed default
What it will not do
- Invent a mission, audience, differentiator, credential or statistic to complete a section
- Promote an inference to a fact
- Store secrets, credentials or private customer data
- Interrogate you in place of doing the reading
Three modes, three ways in
Run it in audit mode first: it records findings and changes nothing. Then fix applies only the findings you approve, and re-check re-tests them later. Switch modes on the prompt above.
- 01Paste the link promptOne line that points your agent at the skill on GitHub. Nothing to install, always the latest version.
- 02Paste the full textFor agents that cannot open links. The skill is self-contained, so this works in any chat.
- 03Install the packInstalled as skills, it triggers by itself when you describe the problem, and can hand work to the other skills.
